Friends

Since joining the Robotics team as a grant writer/mentor/PR coach, I have met some pretty amazing people. But there are two very important woman that I really enjoy being with and can call dear friends. Having friends is different to me - at age (almost) 55, I can say I really don't have a lot of friends. When our kids were younger, I had "friends" that were my age, had kids the same age and one very dear close friend that I wish I knew where she was today. My husband and I just seem to have "acquaintance" friends or work friends.

So I find myself on different grounds - and I am enjoying it. Being in CA, I sometimes feel like a yo-yo.....I moved here and stayed with my sister; found work in the area; but I (and now hubby)visit brother in the north country. And as often as I can, I head to the east coast to visit and be myself.

Anyways, having woman as friends is out of my realm, and I like it. Last Thursday, these two dear ladies came to our house for dinner. Hubby cooked, we ate, talked and laughed. What a magnificent time we had and when the cooking was done - hubby joined us, as did the cat, "Mamma Kitty".

This Thursday - hubby is cooking again, while the ladies do my hair - highlights!
